Because so many people are overworked and overwhelmed, we help people make small changes that can lead to meaningful differences in their lives. This may mean looking at your thoughts a little more closely and coming to recognize how they are connected to your behaviors and may be keeping you stuck in certain patterns or situations. Or it may mean learning more about how food influences mood. Many times change occurs when you can learn to be more compassionate with yourself. If you practice mindful techniques you may realize how much negativity is created through judging. For everyone the process will be a little different. Whatever changes you are working on “mentally” can be supported with Traditional Chinese Medicine and energy practices. Unblocking the energy flow, or Chi, is the main purpose of using acupuncture and Chinese energetics (e.g., Qigong). Along with supporting organ circulation and detoxification, TCM can increase the effectiveness of any psychological therapy and help in the process of becoming healthier and more relaxed.

We believe that people can improve their mental and physical health by opening the available emotional and energetic space – what we call "emotic space."

When we increase emotic space we have the necessary space to:

Live more comfortably with paradox and dilemma. When faced with a paradox we feel tension, a tension telling us to “resolve” the situation by picking one side. When we realize that paradox is a part of life and is “natural” or “normal,” it may help us to let go of the black and white thinking or the belief that there is one way to do something (i.e., the “right” way).

Give ourselves permission to say no to other commitments

Maintain healthy boundaries

Tune in to our inner knowing

Respond more and react less

Undertake new or unexpected challenges and projects

 

GROUP STRESS REDUCTION:
